If you’re like me, summertime means more shimmer.

I’m generally not a fan of obvious shimmer, but I make exceptions for summer, especially summer nights. Summer nights were made for shimmer and gardenia perfume.

I’ve never tried much from Pixi Beauty at Target, but when I saw loose shadows called Fairy Dust for only $10, I really couldn’t resist. I think I have a little bit of spring fever, and planning summer makeup looks seems fun at the moment. The Pixi Beauty Fairy Dust really fit the bill – it’s more shimmer than pigment. These are super sheer but easy to blend colors – I hesitate to call them shadows – that can be used in many more places than just your eyelids.

The Brightening Bare shade almost exactly matches my skin tone, so it just melts in and leaves behind a reasonable shimmer. It works amazingly as a highlighter too: a touch in my cupid’s bow, the indentation on my chin, and up my nose to my forehead. The Mocha Magic was only a shade lighter than my skin tone and made an excellent crease shadow, as well as a contour powder. Super subtle, but very light and pretty.

Pixi Beauty Fairy Dust is available for $10 at Target, and it’s also online at Pixi Beauty.
