Did anyone watch the VMA’s last night? I admit that I had it on for a bit, but lost interest fairly quickly and switched over to my usual Sunday night viewing – True Blood and Breaking Bad. I did manage to catch Katy Perry’s entrance (how cute was it that Russell Brand escorted her in?), and had to marvel at her hair.
Out of all the hair pieces I own, I certainly get the most comments on this one. Probably because it’s quite dramatic, but that is also what makes it so fun. This piece looks like it would be simple to use, but when you have as much thick hair as I do and only one alligator type clip to work with, it takes a bit of work.

I’m going to throw it out there: I love, love, love hair pieces and extensions. Chances are, if you’ve seen me in public, you’ve seen me with some sort of hair piece or extension. I love the way they can radically change your look, taking a bad hair day right into a good hair day, and keep your overall appearance fresh

If you have longer hair, it’s the season for beach waves. This popular hair style doesn’t appear to be leaving our collective consciousness very long, and there are a millon ways to achieve it. Some easy, some not so easy.
I’m tired of the sideswept bangs. I let them grow out, then I cut them back in, for reasons that I’m not even sure I understand. But I love the idea of bangs, even though they require a bit of effort for those of us with curly hair. So I’m thinking about cutting in some deeper bangs.
In my world, hairspray is a staple. Used every day to help control frizz, create and hold an updo, and to help create volume and texture. Some are better than others, and some work for certain styles but not others.
