I am just not having any luck with my polishes lately, and I had super high hopes for this one. Normally, Sally Hansen is one of my favorites, but I’m bitterly disappointed with their new Miracle Gel line.

The idea behind it is that you get gel-quality nails without the lamp. The formula is supposed to be long lasting, and not chip or wear for a week or so. You apply the color then the special top coat. Each, of course, is sold separately.

Mine lasted exactly one night.

No kidding, I painted my nails before I went to bed last night, while I was watching The Walking Dead. Do you watch it? I am so addicted, I swear. Anyway, by the time I woke up this morning, I had wear on my left hand along with a HUGE chip on the index finger of my right hand. I have no idea what I did when I was asleep last night, but it really shouldn’t have chipped my polish.

I am always looking for nail polish that gives me an extra day or so of wear, and I figured this would be my dream come true. Turns out it wasn’t nearly as effective as I thought.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel in Red Eye, $7.99.
