This is super simple, but so many people don’t know about it. So I’m here to school you on why these are so cool.
If you have pin straight hair that doesn’t like to stay in clips or pins, or super coarse hair that just wants to curl up, frizz, and escape (can you tell which one I have? Ugh) this simple trick will give you bobby pins that completely stay in. The hairspray acts as a type of glue to keep hair in place, and I can tell you from experience, this is fabulous when you’re just trying to pin your front section to the side of your face.
Pick a super hold hairspray (I love Suave Professionals Weather Protection 365 – it really does a good job of taming my frizz when the weather is gross humid – which here at the Beach, it always is). Lay your pins (as many as you like) on a paper towel and give them a good spray. Flip them over and spray again. You can do a bunch at once, but I have found that freshly sprayed pins seem to work a little better.
Remember to put the wavy part of your pin right against your head – this will help hair stay right where you put it. And pin that hair up – it’s hot outside.
