Something tells me I’ve written about this line before, but I was looking for something rather summery, and I came across these two and thought they would fit the bill. e.l.f. is a mail-order company (although I’ve been spotting them in Target on the regular, so I’m assuming some stores may carry it) that specializes in makeup being as inexpensive as possible. For example, these nail polishes are $2 each.

What a bargain, right? Well, yes and no. Some of their things are spot on for a dupe of another more expensive product, and others just…disappoint. These polishes, for example, are cute colors. They have an entire range of cute colors, and I would probably buy them all. What would bum me out after receiving and using them would ┬ábe the fact that you need at LEAST three coats. THREE. The pigment is so thin and streaky, no one would want to leave it at one coat, at least with the Mint Creme shade. On a couple of my digits I put FOUR, mostly on the Glitter Glam shade, because the glitter was so fine that it was hard to see. This is not a full on glitter polish – this is ┬ámore of a special effect topcoat. Maybe.

Now, for my 11 year old daughter who is just getting in to it? Perfect.

Here are a few of my favorite shades from the line:
