Now showing up absolutely everywhere are skin masks, and they are here to stay. While they can be a bit more costly than your typical mask-out-of-a-jar, they offer a few benefits that are unmatched with other products.

Most of the skin care companies boast that the sheet mask pull the heat from the skin, resulting in a cooling effect. That is certainly nice, especially in the summer, but I can’t really figure out what the actual skin benefit of that is. So take that one with a grain of salt. If you can figure it out, will you hit me up in the comments below?

They are fantastic for travel. Since they are packaged individually, they are small and flat, and easy to pack in your carry-on, and don’t offer any reason for TSA agents to be snippy. Huge bonus right there.

Packed with super serums, these masks give you far more product than you would get by simply applying serum to your skin. ¬†Find one with hylauronic acid and use it prior to makeup and your skin will not only look five years younger, it will feel that way too. Most masks have a brightening serum, but many are anti-aging and smoothing as well. There are so many out there you won’t have any problem finding one for your skin type. And because they are all about serums, they won’t freak your skin out with ingredients that could clog your pores.

I’ve tried many ¬†masks, and all of them do a fantastic job, so get out there and try one or two and see what you think. I’m betting you will leave behind your thick creamy masks in a heartbeat.
