I saw on the local news that there could be, might be, if everything is just right, snow tomorrow. My kids have never heard anything so wonderful, and while I’m quite sure it will be cold enough for snow at some point, if snow actually falls, it certainly won’t stick. We live at the beach – it’s going to take a little bit more than a few minutes under 32 degrees for anything to actually happen. However, that being said, it made me realize that winter was indeed coming, and I was still happily using my summer products.
One thing I start ASAP when the weather changes is getting into the habit of hand lotion. I don’t bother with it when the weather is warm, because I don’t particularly have that dry of skin. But when it starts getting cold, I have to pay a little bit of attention, because I am a horrible cuticle biter. And if I keep my hands (and cuticles) moisturized, the less chance I will nervously gnaw on them.
Horrible, isn’t it? I know. It’s a horrible habit that I’ve been trying to kick for years. But since I can’t seem to do it, I use little tricks like this to help the situation. Maybe some of my fellow gnawers will give this a try.
Oh, and if you need a hand lotion recommendation, please let me suggest L’Occitaine Shea Butter Hand Cream. It’s 30 mL of awesomeness, and will cost you $12.
