Top 10 Beauty Items for Summertime

  1. Alberto VO5 Conditioning Hairdressing for Normal to Dry Hair: let’s take it old school for a second. Before going to the beach or pool, I slather this cream on my hair, then tie it up. It protects against damage, and gives me amazing hair after I shower.
  2. Hawaiian Tropic Shimmer Effect Sunscreen SPF 40: protect yourself from the sun in style with shimmer. This lotion goes with me to water parks, the beach, anywhere that I’m going to be around people. Don’t even think about getting the SPF 8 formula, either. You need as much sun protection as you can get.
  3. Emjoi Emaine Epilator: I know most people don’t use these, but I have found that shaving my legs every day makes my self-tanner disappear so much faster. Epilators give the same effect as waxing, and it’s worth it once you get used to the feeling.
  4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Lash Genius: this little miracle makes any mascara waterproof.
  5. Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge in Iconic Red: the classic red lipstick in a completely waterproof formula. Check out all the Aqua products – they are amazing.
  6. Philip B Maui Wowie Beach Hair Mist: a definite splurge, but makes amazing post-beach hair any time.
  7. Banana Boat Sport Performance Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 50: sorry, but the SPF 15 that is in most lip balms is simply not enough. Aim for at least a 20, preferably higher. This one fits the bill and gets the job done.
  8. NARS Body Glow: gives you a gorgeous, shimmering glow. Perfect for nights out, and the smell is divine.
  9. Hair Stylers Black Mesh Chignon: now that sock buns are all the rage, these old school donuts are back. I never got rid of mine. Don’t pay a fortune for one – it shouldn’t cost more than $5. This keeps me cool by keeping my hair up off my neck.
  10. Monyette Paris Eau de Parfum: my go-to summer fragrance for many years now. A creamy tuberose/gardenia creation, I’ll blend it with my Black Orchid Body Oil for a unique scent (which, sadly, does not appear to exist any more).
