holy grail week: the products I can't live without

I could write tomes on the amazing properties of Mario Badescu’s Drying Lotion. It’s probably no surprise to see this on a Holy Grail list – I don’t know any bloggers who deal with breakouts who don’t love this product.

dryinglotionYou’ve probably seen the weird little box ads in some of your women’s glossies like Cosmo, and it seems like one of those products that is made for TV and just too good to be true, but this is the real deal. Just a dab of Drying Lotion on a pimple before bed, and you will see results by the time you wake up in the morning. The combination of salicylic acid, colloidal sulfur, and calamine all work together to perform miracles on your skin, and frankly, I couldn’t live without it.

The history of Mario Badescu is long and august. It’s not just a brand, but an institution. Mario Badescu, a chemist and cosmotologist, opened his spa in Manhattan, and it still remains there to this day, adhering to the same principles – effective, gentle, and natural treatments for all skin types at a reasonable price. Even the facials at the spa are reasonable, and you will get a complete skin care consultation to make sure you are using the right products for your type. I visited the spa a couple of years ago, and wrote about it then.

Here is the lovely Nicole talking more about how to use Drying Lotion:
