10 of the most creative, yet still attainable, nail art tutorials in the beauty blogosphere
Nail art is everywhere these days, and although I’m no artist, I’m always interested in trying my hand at it. But I don’t have the ability to come up with many ideas on my own, so I turn to my fellow bloggers for inspiration. Here are some of the best nail art tutorials I have found on the web – and this only scratches the surface! There are some extremely talented nail artists out there, but this will give you a starting point.
Have a tutorial that I missed? Link it up in the comments!
Neon Splatter Tutorial by The PolishaHolic: it takes awhile to get used to working with tape on your fingers, but once you get the hang of it, it has so many uses!
Retro-Glam Nail Art Tutorial by Madeline Poole of Nailing Hollywood: I’ve never seen this look in person, but I have it on my to-do list of art to try. It doesn’t look terribly overwhelming, and if all the jewels aren’t to your taste, it’s easy to do something else with that ring finger.
Creating Nail Transfers by NailNerd.com: I think this is an awesome idea, but I’ll admit that I haven’t tried it yet. But for those of you who can create a freehand design and want to use a transfer to make it easier, this tutorial is for you.
Martini Nails by Swatch and Learn: Martini nails on glitter. I don’t think there is anything else to say. She recommends them for New Year’s Eve, I recommend them any day.
Gift Box Nails by Simply Rens: While these are perfect for the winter holidays, I think you could change up the colors and use it for just about any occasion. How about making the solid colors pink with black polka dots for birthday presents? The options are endless.
Jump Jade Dandelion Nails by Linda H: How perfectly springy are these nails? This one is a bit beyond my ability level, but I’d love to be able to do it.
Jen Kao Look by Nail Art 101: I am OBSESSED with this look. I wish my nails were just slightly longer so that I could really rock this look. Super simple to do, all you need is one of those triangular makeup sponges that you don’t actually use for makeup.
Scalloped manicure by Fist Full of Polish: remember those fancy scrapbooking scissors you bought and used once? How about another way to put those things to good use?
Newsprint Nails: the print journalist in me just loves these nails. I would imagine that you would need a light or sheer base. Perhaps one of the new pastels that are currently flooding the market?
Tiffany & Co. inspired nail art: I love Tiffany blue, don’t you? Doesn’t everyone? Add some white (or red during the holidays) and you have a perfect Tiffany gift box. The gems are just an extra added touch.
