Well, everyone is just all aflutter over this New York Times article about beauty bloggers. I think Christine over at Bon Bons in the Bath had an excellent response, but I thought I’d throw my dime in there too. I don’t get free samples. The only samples I get are from Sephora when I spend over $100, because I’m a “Beauty Insider.” Not that I would mind a sample or two – that’s fun. But it wouldn’t affect the way I write about something. If I don’t like it, I don’t like it. And just because I don’t like it [...]

I Heart Foot Petals

The truth of the matter is that I love my heels. But what I don’t love is the absolute pain that I get after a few hours of walking, dancing, or otherwise being on my feet. So when I discovered Foot Petals, I was hoping that I had found something to help with that. And it really did help – tremendously. This wonderful little product is called Tip Toes, and you place them on the inner sole of your shoe where the ball of your foot rests. These cushion that part of your foot that gets sore quickly and also [...]

Spring Summer 08 Dresses

Doing a bit of dress shopping today. What I’m seeing is some fabulous prints and graphics in bold, bright colors. The trapeze/babydoll style is still popular, but it’s so hard to rock that look well, unless you’re super, super skinny, and even then, it’s just not my favorite, so I tried to stay away from that one. I’m in love with wrap dresses and cobalt blue, so you’ll probably see a lot of that in my picks. And I’ve got everything here from Shopbop to Target, because I don’t discriminate. Cute comes in many price ranges. See more of my [...]

Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel by MD Skincare

I think I might be addicted to facial peels. A large part of my skin care routine is dedicated to the art and science of exfoliation, and I love trying out new ones. This product makes it very simple – two premoistened pads, one with the peel, and one with the neutralizing solution. Wipe the peel on first, let it sit for two minutes, then wipe with the neutralizing pad. Simple! What is really nice about this product versus what I’ve tried from drugstore brands is that it doesn’t feel quite as harsh on the face. No awful “tight face” [...]

Another Show to Get Addicted To

Pretty soon, I’ll watch nothing but Bravo. There is always something on that I am very into, and it all began with Project Runway. Now, several series later, I’ve found another one that will get a season pass on my TiVO. The Real Housewives of New York City. Yes, obviously Bravo is actually inside my head. Unlike their O.C. counterparts, these women are busy. Oh, sure, they are part of the “social scene,” whatever that is, but what I’m more interested in is the fact that several of them are entrepreneurs. I really enjoy seeing intelligent, strong women representing. And [...]

Atlanta: Pretty City Sample Sale

Out of everything I did in Atlanta, I’d have to say that I had the most fun at the Pretty City Beauty Sample Sale. Of course, everything else I did was mostly work related, so that is never as fun as my beauty stuff. First of all, check out the cupcakes! Aren’t they fun? This is the Georgian ballroom in the Biltmore in Midtown Atlanta. So beautiful. And here is a close-up of the fab cupcakes – can you tell I adore cupcakes? Here is a shot of the ballroom as you walked in.Here is my friend Brandy enjoying the refreshments. Did [...]
